Social Dress New Orleans - 730 Days After 

Takashi Horisaki and a small team of volunteers were working 20-hour days in the 100-degree heat when OPP found them completing an art project in the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans. Emergency Communities in the Lower 9 (from Vignette 3)

Emergency Communities is a non-profit organization that employs compassion and creativity to provide community-based disaster relief. Since Katrina, they have operated four relief sites, served over 300,000 meals and 25,000 residents of the Gulf. [emergencycommunities.org]

Pura Vida Teaser

Here is a teaser video Farrah put together for the upcoming Footprints Journal: Finding Pura Vida movie due out in April. It uses music from Xavier Rudd (the song "Solace") whose music is perfect and with whom we were certain we could reach an agreement when the teaser was being put together.

Unfortunately, Xavier's managment won't give us price on licensing the song. The official response after pitching them the project: "the legal fees alone make this prohibitive for the artist". Did I mention we offered to pay them and they did not give us a price?

So for the record; this is not for commerical purposes and no Xavier Rudd music will be used in the final production. I am sure Xavier knows nothing about it, so don't blame him. Blame a silly and complicated existing process for sharing intellectual property. I could tell you stories...
